Scottsville turns into a holiday snowglobe for one magical day!
Now in its 5th year, Holiday on the James brings together local shops, vendors, artists, and families for a full day of festive fun — all leading up to the Christmas Tree Illumination with Santa in Canal Basin Square.

🧺 Holiday Market
📍Scottsville Pavilion, 10 AM – 2 PM
Vendors, food trucks, and refreshments fill the Pavilion for a lively start to Holiday on the James!
🎨 SCAN Indoor Art Market
📍SCAN Art Gallery & Victory Hall, 10 AM – 4 PM
Local artists and makers fill Victory Hall with handcrafted art and gifts — with concessions available all day!
🎶 Scottsville Elementary Choir
📍Scottsville Pavilion, 10 AM - 10:20 AM
Kick off the morning with holiday songs from the Scottsville Elementary School Choir.
🚗 Car Show - canceled due to weather.
📍James River Boys & Girls Club, 11 AM – 3 PM
Classic and custom cars line up for a fun community showcase with entertainment by DJ Crazy Craig. Come admire, chat with owners, and vote for your favorite!
🌟 Christmas Tree Illumination
📍Canal Basin Square, 6 PM
Join Santa for Scottsville’s favorite tradition — lighting the town Christmas tree! This year the tree will be bigger and better!
Food trucks, wine, and other vendors will be on-site for refreshments.
💚 Find the Grinch
📍Throughout Town, All Day
Meet Cindy Lou Who at 10:20 AM at the Pavilion, then spot the Grinch’s antics around town! End the search with Storytime with the Grinch.
🎅 Canal Basin Square Festivities
📍Canal Basin Square, 12 PM – 7 PM
Local wineries, food trucks, and holiday music bring the holiday energy! Enjoy vendors, including a Christmas Tree Farm, and kids’ activities — face painting, caricatures, pony rides and Santa photo ops.
🍪 Storytime & Refreshments
📍Scottsville United Methodist Church, 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM
Visit the church all day for refreshments and cookies, finishing with a reading of the Christmas Story in the Church at 5:00
🧵 Holiday Craft Fair
📍Scottsville Library, 10:30 AM – 3 PM
Drop by the Scottsville Library to make one, or more, various winter crafts. There will be a variety of projects for all ages.
